Ivor Cutler was a multifaceted Scottish artist, active in various fields including literature, music, and visual art. Born in 1923, he developed a distinctive style that blended poetry, songwriting, and humor, captivating audiences through his performances on BBC radio. His collaborations with prominent radio hosts, such as John Peel and Andy Kershaw, further expanded his reach and reputation.
Cutler's creative output extended beyond radio performances, as he appeared in notable film and television productions, including the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour in 1967 and Neil Innes's TV shows. In addition to his artistic pursuits, he was a dedicated educator, teaching at A. S. Neill's Summerhill School and spending 30 years in inner-city London schools.
