Samuel ibn Tibbon

Samuel ibn Tibbon was a prominent Jewish philosopher and physician who lived in the 12th and 13th centuries. Born around 1150 in Lunel, a town in the Languedoc region, he spent his life working in Provence, which is now part of France. He later died in Marseille around 1230. As a scholar, ibn Tibbon made significant contributions to the field of Judaism, particularly through his translations of important Jewish texts from Arabic to Hebrew.

Ibn Tibbon's writings and translations had a profound impact on Jewish thought and scholarship during the Middle Ages.
