Einat Ramon
Einat Ramon is a trailblazer in the field of Judaism, having made history as the first Israeli-born woman to be ordained as a rabbi. Her pioneering spirit continued as she took on leadership roles, becoming the first woman and the first sabra to head a Conservative rabbinical school. Notably, she served as the dean of the Schechter Rabbinical Seminary in Jerusalem from 2005 to 2009, leaving a lasting impact on the institution.
Although Ramon no longer identifies as a rabbi since 2011, her dedication to Jewish education and spiritual care remains unwavering. She currently heads the Marpeh training program for spiritual caregivers in Jerusalem, providing guidance and support to those in the field. Additionally, Ramon teaches modern Jewish thought and Jewish feminism at the Schechter Institute, sharing her expertise and insights with students and scholars alike. Through her work, she continues to contribute to the evolution of Jewish thought and practice, inspiring future generations of leaders and scholars.
