Ben-Zion Alfes
Rabbi, author and Jewish orator (1851–1940)
Ben-Zion Alfes was a prominent Rabbi, author, and Jewish orator, born in 1851. Throughout his life, he traveled extensively to various Jewish communities, demonstrating unwavering dedication to numerous Jewish causes. As a prolific writer, Alfes authored approximately 60 books, leaving a significant mark on Jewish literature. One of his most notable works is the highly acclaimed series Maaseh Alfes, which gained widespread recognition and became a familiar name in many households.
Alfes' literary career spanned many decades, with his writing continuing well into his later years. At the age of 90, he published his autobiography, "The Life Story of the Maase Alfes," which was the last work to be published during his lifetime. Another autobiographical work, Toledot ve-Zikhronot, was published posthumously, offering a distinct perspective on his life. Ben-Zion Alfes passed away in 1940, leaving behind a legacy as a renowned Rabbi, author, and Jewish orator, with his written works remaining a testament to his tireless efforts in supporting Jewish communities and causes.
